Grain de Blé organizes camps to reach out to Syrian and Iraqi refugee children escaped the war zone in their home land, and now living in refugee tents in Lebanon. We work with churches in Beirut and the Beqaa (Zahleh) to coordinate three day camps and follow up events for the children. We target 60 kids per camp, where we spend quality time with them to plant the seed of Hope in their hearts through the word of God. We teach them new songs, verses from the bible and follow a well designed curicullum for three days.
Our day camps include:
The kids look forward to their free time; they play soccer, enjoy the swings, the slides, the trampoline and playground in addition to other activities the team prepares for them. We stress the importance of meal time with the children; we provide substantial hot meals on a daily basis in addition to salads and desserts. In our evening program the leaders entertain the children with funny skits and camp pranks.
We follow-up with the children who attend our camps with programs to ensure on their faith and have the chance to teach them more Christian songs and bible stories. So we connect with local churches and coordinate with them to invite the children to their churches on a weekly basis and run follow-up programs for them. The program includes time of worship and teaching the children new songs, a bible story / Q&A, fun and play time, then we provide the children with either a meal or snacks before we send them back home.
